Hello its me again with another problem with the old L322! This time self inflicted, amongst others the newest issue is i have managed to ground the car, it is of course my wifes fault as i had lowered the car so she could climb in and i set off Without waiting for the car to raise, and rather than reversing and going round i thought... nah, its a big 4x4 so i drove down the embankment in front with all long grass and down to the road.... however i didnt see the huge boulder hiding in the grass just over the edge incredibly it missed everything else and has taken a huge chunk out one of the center boxes which is now blowing, I think the car dropped onto the rock as the scrape starts directly in the middle of the box, I have put an exhaust wrap on as a temp fix I was going to weld a patch on when I had an idea, has anyone cut the center boxes off and welded straight pipes in? I have done something similar on the p38 which gives it a more v8 sound but not noticeable at motorway speed (no droning) I though as the box is fooked, now may be a good time to chop them off and release the v8 grumble however I don’t want it to be too load or droning as the whole point of a range is comfort, I have looked and you could cut the boxes off whilst still retaining the existing exhaust mountings I’m just a bit frightened to start hacking bits off as it’s one hell of a big exhaust to replace if I fook it up! It’s a 2004 4.4 petrol,
