hi I have just joined the forum to see if I can get a bit of advise or find out if anyone else has had the same problems as we have. We have a Range Rover sport and for some reason the keyless entry stops working until the following day, we manually unlock the car but the system doesn’t fully unlock causing the battery to drain. Been to the garage a few times with it and they have changed the auxiliary battery and the alternator. But yesterday it happened again and now this morning it’s unlocking. I really don’t know what to do with it??? It’s driving me crazy! Any help would I would be extremely grateful thanks

Hi

What year is ur RRS please

The older RRS suffered from the ingress of water that sat in the door sills inside where the loom sits on the passenger side

There’s also a connection that had 3 x wires that needed to come apart and be remade

don’t know if it would be the same with urs

Also not sure if ur keyfob has a battery or inductive charging , if it has a fob battery would change that first

Don’t forget the fereday bag for ur keys to prevent theft

But if u would be so kind to let us know what year, engine , auto manual can do some digging for u to see if it’s the same issue

Gary

Ps, left ur carpets in the footwells and see if they feel wet , imagine with this hot weather they’ve dried out , lol, look down in the door sills where the loom sits if any water is laying there

Hi thanks for your reply, it’s 2013 automatic. The floors have never felt wet, we did have that problem with our last RRS (sunroof problems). We have had the AA out when it happened before and they changed the batteries but still didn’t work. It’s annoying because when it goes and doesn’t open by the time we have got it to a garage (the next day) it’s unlocking fine, then they can’t see the problem or locate what’s wrong with it. We do use the pouch for the keys as I have heard they are easy to steal with the keyless entry, any help I would be extremely grateful

When i can’t unlock it with the keyless entry I have to take the key apart and manually unlock it, then the alarm goes off and I hold the key near the steering wheel as directed by the car and it starts but no other doors unlock, the windows do not open and the wing mirrors do not open, if I drive it like this to get home the battery goes really low.

Many thks, now we know the year will have a dig around for u to see if I can find anything

So assume when they’ve plugged diagnostics in it hasn’t shown anything or been able to retrieve any codes

Will post up Any info I find

When you say 'It's been to the garage' is this one that has LR specific diagnostic kit - e.g main dealer or specialist LR indy with the same - or just a general type of garage without LR specific diagnostic kit?

All of the sudden both key fobs stopped working. any suggestions? Is there a fuse that controls it? Both key fobs show the little red light flasshing when a button is pushed so I do not think it is the battery. everything in the truck seems to be working fine. I did have a little rain get into the drivers side window this weekend but I did not see any water "pooled" any where.....
