My 95 2.5 TD RR, after being stood for 3 months unused (I was undergoing radiotherapy treatment) now won’t rise from access mode.
Using EASUnlock & also Blackbox faultmate does not show up any ECU faults. The software also shows that the front and rear valves are switching when the dashboard height switch is operated . The height sensors are working – with the engine running I jacked up the rear using the tow bar and the change of height was shown by the rear sensors. Co-incidentally, with the rear jacked up the front of the RR would rise up and down when I pressed the dash control to raise / lower the vehicle (front height sensors showed the change in height). After I lowered the rear end of the RR off the jack the front would not lower until I switched off the ignition and locked the vehicle. Then it settled back down to access mode height.
Anyone any ideas what the problem could be?

You didn't mention how the compressor is doing. Your test kit might say that it's running but is it putting out enough air?

Anyway my guess is a leak at the back. The system is designed to raise the back first and lower it last to stop the headlights dazzling folk as you change height.

But I'd start by making sure that you're producing air at sufficient pressure to do anything.

Take the blue pipe off the compressor, command the compressor to run with the EAs software, stick your thumb hard over the outlet, if the air does not push past the compressor is stuffed. If you have good pressure, I would agree with dogsbody, you have a leak at the rear. If the airbags are original that would be no surprise, a blowing exhaust can also melt the air pipes.

open driver's door, start car, let run for a good 15 mins, reach in (or even get in), set desired height, shut door. oh and make sure handbrake is down. 15 mins is enough time for the compressor to fill the reservoir. it might just be the tank was low and with all the commands you were trying it never got a chance to fill up. if the car now rises as ordered, open door again, switch off engine and either remove delay timer or leave a door / tailgate open and leave the car overnight. Measure the height at each corner if you like and then come back and re-measure in the morning. If a corner has dropped that's where you'll find a leak.

Hi everyone,

sorry I didn't reply sooner - Thank you all for your the repsonses.
I will try Rasheeds suggestion first thing this morning and see what happens. If that fails I will run a pressure test on the system to see what I get - (I have a pressure gauge, just need a coiple of fittings) then I start "leak seeking" - hopefully it won't be raining. Cheers everyone
