yep this work's . remember that it's the overall gearing your playing with , so , low box will not be as low !! clutch may wearout sooner and as youll be going faster you may need 109 or stage 1 drums as there larger .
 
Yes but you will need the early 10 spline ones i think it was 1993 they went to 24 splines but not 100% on that
Even better if you can get the ones with the level bungs in the diff itself as my rear diff housing had no level bung

In Norfolk you may be ok cos its flat out there. I fitted a pair in my diesel series 3 and was never happy with the driveabillity and have gone back to standard diffs. Maybe a petrol would pull them better, i was forever shifting from 3rd to 4th Not the way to go on these old gearboxes.

I have a set fitted in my 2a petrol. Even though i havent driven it in 5 years it was very good to drive on the road with these diffs. The only bad thing i do remember is that low range first was right on the limit for power of the engine when seriously off-roading
