Classic Range Rover Ambulance

Looks in very good condition for the year and the paintwork is excellent, (apart from the few dings).

No Trolleys, O2, Defib, Sats Monitor, Suction on board though - but good to see the fire extinguisher, (which should be good for a roadside litter bin fire - if you are lucky)!

Don't you guys, (and gals), have an ambulance preservation trust over there?
 
Would be a shame for it to lose its 'heritage'.

It brings me back to the days before ramps and electric lift assist, (even EAS would have been better than nothing), and the working space looks slightly better than that of the later Volvo Estate, (which was a revelation to drive but the working space rendered the patient inaccessible - absolutely useless for major trauma or when surgical intervention was required).

Anyway back to reality and the present day - may brave the frost, later, and go out and start to remove the sunroof assembly - in preparation for the re-lining of the headlining!

Life must go on - particularly relevant re this post.

I think the fact its for sale as a Rover rather than Land Rover rather gave the game away that the salesman at Turners handling the sale knows sweat FA. The seller may not have checked the listing and seen the errors, but would have agreed the reserve price.

Don't know! I don't think so though 'cos I've seen various Red Cross 109 ambulances for sale and nobody has mentioned anything about such a group.
 
There was another identical ambulance in the same auction. Unfortunately I missed the auction, so I don't know what they sold for.

However, the next day, low and behold 1 comes up on TradeMe (the NZ equivalent of eBay). Being sold by a dealer who's obviously bought it from Turners. He had it up for £8K, and in the text he says "Impossible to find another like it.".

So I emailed him saying "Impossible to find another like it. There were 2 of these for sale at Turners yesterday!!! 32 and 37."

His response was "And I own both of them so you won't find another one because i'm keeping one ;)"

So he's a shonkey 2nd hand car dealer!

Anyway, he's just sold that one..... So you guessed it, the 2nd one has now gone on TradeMe at the same price and same "Impossible to find another like it." description.

Car dealers are ****ers the world over.

Anyway, I've reported the auction to TradeMe. Hopefully they'll bring it down and he'll lose his listing fee.

Or he could be reading from the V5C
Interestingly my '87 RRC is shown on the document as a Rover, whereas post '78 it should be Land Rover.
Never attempted to have it altered though, don't want to confuse o_O the DVLA
