Looks original.Hi this week I came across a Vin plate number I never saw before do you think it original?
Usually the ones I found are all of the same font.
You, re sure it looks original?
Is that on the front chassis leg ?Am attaching the chassis number the first 2 no are almost faded and can't be seen in 5he photo. What do I think?
Both end "74B" so all good.Am attaching the chassis number the first 2 no are almost faded and can't be seen in 5he photo. What do I think?
Lucky you can still see it, mine was a 75 and no way could I find it and the slam panel vin plate was missing had to make something up to satisfy mot tester one year.Yes I front of the rhs spring
Ah.
Hi ukadamwest the problem is that I'm not sure about the vin plate as the last 4 number s are of a different font. Have you seen it I attached a pic?
The thing with these is that that the chassis do rot away and the chassis number placemen over years can become illegible.
The DVLA will go on the plate affixed to the slam panel.
I looked into this extensively with my Suffix A. the chassis was like Swiss cheese at the rear and considered a chassis swap. the bodyshell was also like Swiss cheese. a triggers broom.
I ended up getting a donor chassis for the rear legs. By the time the chassis was flap wheeled back and coated any vestiges of the chassis number were illegible. not that it was very legible to start with.
You can get the chassis number restamped but that can only be done through an authorised person. To satisfy purists.
At the end of it the vehicle will be identified by the VIN plate. Nothing else.
It's a 1973, Suffix B, imported in 1985.The car was imported in 1985 what do you think?
