Rain water leak? Both footwells now

Hello - newbie alert!

My 06 freelander is getting a wet passenger footwell when it rains. The water come down the left hand side, just behind the glovebox.
Recently the water has been coming down the pedals on the driver side too.

Coolant is constant and the leaks only occur when it rains and I don't use my AC much.

I found this and will be checking my footwell over the weekend, but I thought I would ask in case it is something else.

Have a look at the sunroof drains mine is leaking on drivers side as the sunroof cassette is rust will be doing a repair to mine next weekend. We are going into winter now so have to sort it out ASAP!
 
mine turned out to be a leaky windscreen, just above the rear view mirror and depending which way i parked on my drive meant that either the passenger or drivers footwell was filling up! pull the a post covers off (they just clip on) then run some water across the top of the screen then see if you get any water build up in the corners. i did try to seal mine but ended up getting a new screen fitted
 
Thanks - I will do both the sunroof drains and windscreen inspection next weekend.
I have the detachable glass sunroof panels so the drain channels are the same design as if you have a winding one?
I checked the aircon evaporator drain this weekend - not a problem there.

No, they are free draining to the outside.

Stand with the running hose over the windscreen, then move up to the roof height to trace the leak.

Bolt holes for the roof rails can also leak but tends to run behind the door pillar, so the seat belts become wet.

More than likely, I'd say a loose grommet or loose air intake vent in the bulkhead
 
Hi may not be it but i recently had the same on mi old spitfire, water was getting in via the windscreen wiper linkage where it pertrudes through to the wiper arm just needed the arm taking off,rubber seal replacing and tightening right up...
 
Rather than start (another) new thread I have a quick related question - the seal around the drivers door comes loose if I brush past them when getting in or out. Is there an adhesive I can use to get the blinkin thing to stay put :mad:?

Otherwise the seal is pretty good, bit of condensation but that's normal ish.
 
I removed the side panels and cleared out the bulkhead - nothing major in there.
Screen has been replaced this weekend and there is a dehumidifier doings its best in the footwell.
If any water comes in now - its time to :Cry:
One point about the air intake in the bulkhead possibly leaking, I couldn't remove it to check, is there some trick?
 
I attach a photo of the two air intake pipes in the bulkhead.

One thing I didn't do is close this off by saying...

Yep, the windscreen was to blame.

Apologies for not closing of this post ages ago.

£60 quid spent on the old windscreen excess saved me a lot of heartache..
