any one recommend a good company that re-cores rad's down here it's seems to be cockney prices
to suit the cockney migration ;)

Came across the same problem here in west Wales. I would have liked to re-core my all metal rad but by the time you added in the cost plus travel/time it was just not worth it. Guess you may be wanting it for the series one and might have to bite the bullet.

If it’s for a S1 try the S1 club. They have loads of contacts. If your a member they list these in the rear of the magazines.
Sorry I’m not a member anymore.

I wanted a special - an S2A rad for a Perkins, recored. I got priices around £180 / £220 but courieiring was extra so it was heading for £250. I found a decent one on ebay for £12 so that sorted it, but it did mean a 400 mile round trip to collect it!

I’ve got a series one radiator waiting a trip to the tip. It came attached to a series one front panel but it’s un tested. It may very well be a good one but you just can’t give gear away these days without someone messing you about.
I don’t think a recore is any less than a modern replacement. The only advantage is originality if that’s what your after.

What happened to the front panel and was it any good ?

THE PRICE QUOTED FOR RE-CORE HERE IS £420 WITH COURIER BEARING IN MIND IT A SERIES 2 RAD AS IS THE ENGINE IN MY SERIES 1,I'M A MEMBER OF THE SERIES 1 CLUB AND RE CORE SERIES RADS EXCHANGE
£375 which are no good to me as the front panel has been adapted to take the series 2 rad the series 1 stood for twenty year and the rad still had anti-freeze ,flushed and refilled with new anti-freeze 5 year ago and decided to dump it's contents over the floor ,toying with series 3 new rad at £180 new but do like the look of the old rad ,like 1 said the Devon prices are cockney led and i'm looking for Brummy prices and a faster turnaround
the rad and panel you have is valuable and in short supply Bobsticle so don't take to the tip try Neil Furness 01562 883521/07860259442 [email protected] don't know what he pay's for part only the price he charges

It was a year ago when I got prices, I think I was looking at somewhere near Heathrow and another in Brum.

http://www.lrsoc.com/forum/index.php?topic=37237.0 the ad says he charges £130.00 more for a non exchange rad that an exchange rad . So that might imply that he would pay £130 for a second hand rad . Well, it does to me , but I bet he doesn’t.

Theres a place in Exeter that recores rads https://www.radiator-repairs.co.uk/

@Bobsticle how much do you want for the series 1 rad?

friend of mine needs one there is a hole in the brass top of his
I would happoily gift the bleedin thing but only under the strict rule that I dont have to mess about with it. It didnt cost me anything and is totally useless to me. I have used the front panel off it so its just the rad. It was stored outside in a garden for years when I bought the panel and once separated lived down the side of my shed for a year before the Mrs got brassed off with it and was dumped inside the shed until now.
If it can be collected its yours.
