Hi all need some help!!

Just fitting a new r380 stumpy gearbox which replaced my lt77. Gearbox is in but having trouble with the slave cylinder. It won't fit!! It won't seat properly it sticks out about 2cm.

What slave cylinder should I be using? Engine is a 300tdi out of a discovery and the box was a Lt77 and now a r380 stumpy. Defender 1987 ish!!!

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Not sure they help, I would measure yours and then call one of the usual suspect suppliers and ask them what they have.

I know I got confused with it all, took some measurements as the slave in mine was not the "correct" one.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I am preparing a short bellhousing R380 to go into my 110.
I am struggling with clutch pushrods as there seem to be various options. I'm not sure why there is much difference as despite the various bell housing lengths, I would imagine that the distance from the front of the bellhousing to the clutch arm should be pretty much the same on all of them.
I see that there is a specific pushrod for the short bellhousing R380, part number FTC 4018, currently retailing at £80 !!!!! God only knows how they get to that price.
I note that you say FTC3912 is the part for the Stumpy R380, and you clearly know your stuff, bit on the face of it FTC3912 appears to be too long, although it's not in the vehicle yet..
I have searched everywhere on the 'net to try and find the length of the various push rods but there is very little info.

James hasn't been around for several years unfortunately - but if he said those are the right bits, then the odds are infinitesimally small that they're not!

Just in case someone has the same problem, I ended up using the original LT77 push rod on the advice of Ashcrofts, and all seems to work from a static test.
The ftc3912 option was about another 20mm longer and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long.
The joy o old Land Rovers.
