That's an indication of the engine being immobilised I assume u can crank the engine.
Move the fob nearer the ignition-switch or press the unlock button and the symbol should extinguish and the engine should crank and start.

U may have an off fob battery but if u can lock/unlock then it's okay, u may also have an iffy immobiliser ECU (spider). :(

Had same issue on my tdi. I Run a wire from back of ignition there will be a thick white wire. Run a wire from the white wire to the fuel pump solenoid. N wire from red white wire to the starter relay.

It may be the same f9r the v8. Or try from white wire to starter solenoid just to get you goin but id also be looking behind heater for the spider unit to bypass that

hi all have looked for spider and it is not there the connector block is which is connected to another block with two looped wires on it , have checked all fuses still no look , anyone any ideas cheers gary

So the spider is already bypassed then with that connector.

You need to bypass the fuel side now then to start it.

hi have tried that too engine still will not crank ,fob will not lock and unlock car, unable to deactivate immobilizer

Youve got to bypass the immobiliser by doing what ive said with the wires. Take the alarm fuses out and run wire from white wire on ignition to fuel solenoid and red n white wire to the starter relay and it should start

Do you have an auto? If so you will have to provide power to the inhibit relay to start. If you can't unlock with the fob then it may be faulty or the security ECU is faulty or even has been removed as unlocking with the key should activate the alarm.

You don't have a fuel solenoid .... if u require an ignition switched supply you pickup the "yellow wire" and not from the ignition switch as there's no need, but just from where the switch wires enter the fuse board on the front.
So... One wire to the coil+ ... and if auto one wire to the inhibit relay... or if manual one white/red wire to the starter relay should get you going.
You can check existing supply to the coil+ if u haven't already done so.

It's easy to work out with a wiring diagram, if u can't then get someone who can.:D

Have you cleaned the earth on the back of the LHS headlight panel (behind the coil)?

Take it off and clean it (10mm socket) and re assemble. Five minute job and MAY cure it.
