Disco 1 R Plate (1997) 2 door Discovery 1?

Recently, I have seen a white R Reg 2 door discovery 1 around locally in London a few times. It is a left hand drive type so presumably an export model originally.

From what I have read, the 2 doors were only made for the first few years. Were they produced later for export markets?

It seemed unusual to see a 2 door registered that late.
 
Pretty sure they did 3 dr all the way through d1 production. Certainly for commercials anyway

That is correct on the info u have, the 300 series was originally configured either 3 door or 5 door.
As always when an imported vehicle is registered in the UK it will have a plate relating to the model year, so in your case it’s a 1997 MY.

The vehicle I have been seeing has rear seats and windows. It is not a commercial type.

I had read that the two door models with rear seats were discontinued in 1990. Is that incorrect?

Mines was a 7 seater rear seats removed now though its a 97....

Yes, and in two ways. There is no 2 door Discovery of any description ;) - and the 3 door models were made up about 98..... SWMBO has one of the last ones, and it is appreciating nicely;)
 
Hi I've had both 200 tdi 93 yr / 300 tdi 97yr disco 1 3 door models current one 52 plate td5 es though you do find a better 3 door compared to 5 door models just awkward climbing in and out
