I have to put the key fob to my head to get the central locking to work on my D1 unless I'm within 3 meters of the vehicle!

Passenger side front window whistles if you go over 50mph. I suppose I aught to work out how to adjust the window frame so it sits better against the door seal...

On my Freelander-
If I have the heater on full and on the windscreen there is a rattle from the dashboard. Maybe a bit of paper flicking about.

Drivers door doesn't unlock on the first press of the unlock button but will work on the second. Faulty solenoid I need to fix but it still locks and unlocks so it will wait a while.

When I shut my rear door the door glass is supposed to slide up but the glass is a little out of adjustment and so I have to press the glass for it to go in its place

The gearstick rattles on tickover. I just need to rest my finger on it and it stops.
The exhaust rattles a little on tickover. I can't reach to hold that though. Might be a bit hot.

My exhaust has a whistle at around 1525 revs from where I redesigned my exhaust. It keeps me amused when driving on my own

Drivers side window button occasionally sticks.

I had some work done on my door at a bodyshop and it was taken off but not quite put on right so you have to make sure you shut the door properly.

There shall be more things, I had a good mental list but as soon as I started typing it I forgot half of it

my central locking wont work unless you are next to the truck

it wont rev for the first 30 seconds when its cold

theres a certain knack to shutting the rear passenger door

drivers door whistles at 50+

clunks when you set off and then accelerate round a corner

drivers seatbelt sometimes doesnt retract when you take it off so ot needs a wiggle

front passenger door will only work for certain people i.e me unless you pull the lock up
the transfer box will kick into neutral randomly in high or low
drivers door needs new hinges
doesn't like starting first thing in the morning yet will be fine even after sitting at work all day
steering wheel squeeks against the colomn cowling unless you pull it towards you but then it'll sink back slowly and start squeeking again
heater fan randomly squeeks at any speed
rear doors won't open unless you snatch the outer handles
drivers door has alot of wind noise at about 50+mph
alternator light is on unless you turn the sidelights on then it will dim then turn headlights on and it'll nearly go out
think that's it

oh yeah, I have the oil light coming on below 1500 revs.

Worn oil pump.

You guys have some 'quirks' that are actually faults that are indicating potential future problems.
Dodgy alternators, worn oil pumps etc. they aren't quirks they are faults that need sorting!

My disco 1.

Central locking only works when I'm pointing zapper at my head or on the osr window.

I think it's now fixed but, intermittent front wiper. Rear wiper. Heated rear screen and rear fog all either work or don't work all at the same time.

And it leaks absolutely no fluids whatsoever... Touchwood. That must be winner or most unique quirk. :)

Its been llike it since I have had it. I got loads of advice from peeps on here about it after starting a fred. I changed the main n crank bearings as well as replacing the oil pump spring, but I still got low oil pressure, so its become a quirk for me.. I have to sit at the traffic lights revving the engine :D
I got a new engine to go it its soonish anyway, so I am not bothered..

One of our trucks had the same problem and a very good engine builder friend of ours said its 90% of the time the rear camshaft bearing.

My door requires at least 10 flicks of the key to get the lock to open to let me in and requires to clicks of the internal catch for the door to stay closed

Yeah, the cam bearings was going to be the next thing to replace, but its a big job for a have a go hero who don't know much, like me..
Much easier to change the engine and sort the old engine at my leisure..

Fair enough! Much Easier out if the car anyways! :)

put 10 litres of sunflour oil in my disco today, (tescos £10 for 10 litres) followed by £15 of diesel.
it already had 1/4 tank of mixture.
driving it about today, the engines is at its quietest its ever been - worried now...

best not think about it till it needs more fuel..

reading about inside lights not working - couple of years ago I bought some of them led light replacement packs, the squares with about 15 leds in, put 1 in the front, put the other in the back. instant illumination when you open a door-there really good and dont drain your battery if you have to leave a door open for long periods either.

might have said before, but had a drivers side knock coming from the cv joint a few years ago, when i reversed..topped up the front swivvels with a lithium grease and ep 140 mixture...been as good as gold ever since....and it dont leak much out of the ball oil seal either, just keeps it lubricated..

my alternator tests fine though so it's a quirk at the minute untill i have the money to replace it just to make damn sure it's not going to fail me at the worst time

My exhaust comes loose on the drivers side manifold whenever im driving on gravel roads and so sounds like a spitfire :D

Thats about it really shes bloody sound apart from that :D

My wipers wipe once when I indicate left (not right) or flash my headlights.
The bonnet release cable is broken and the end sticks out through the grille. To open, apply a pair of pliers.

Drivers window can only be rolled halfway down if I want it to shut again, the channel is bust and needs fixing. The headlights work, but not with the tailights, the taillights woirk when sidelights only are on! God only knows what some of the nest of wires do, but one day we'll find out, maybe.

Now I know how to it emits a nice smokescreen first thing of a morning .. if it starts! Very different procedure to the Disco!

It rejects new springs like there's no tomorrow .. ;)

Rear door rattles unless you close it, then shove it. Just make sure the handbrake is on well...

No barrel on drivers side, so have to climb over

If I brake hard there is a very loud clunk from the back, no idea what it is

Headlights are dull and battery light is illuminated on start unless I rev the engine

Both reverse and fog lights keep filling up with water

Drivers door blows directly onto my elbow over 50

Sometimes the brakes are fine, other times they just don't want to stop

Oh, and it doesn't emit any smoke of any colour, ever.

1st n' 2nd gears you have to double clutch when its a cold day,

And the bonnet release cable doesn't reset so you have to push the arm with a flat head screwdriver to make the bonnet close and stay shut lol,

Read door unlocks its self when locking and removing the key from it, havent quite figured out whats caused that yet, bit of an art to get it to stay locked,

Alarm gets twitchy in damp and icy weather,

Nothing serious, just mildly annoying lol
