I have been toying with the idea of fitting the military style front bumperette to my series for a long time. I came across this picture on Facebook market place which is the same colour as mine and it has reignited the question, if I did fit I would be looking at the bare galv finish the same as the bumper. Just after people opinion yes or no. If it makes a difference I will be fitting a capstan shortly but am still collecting parts to get the complete kit to fit.

Where did my poll go :vb-headbang:

As it has disappeared answers below please rather on the poll that is no longer there!

Bare galv. They look good & stand out better than painted.
(That gxc number plate… does it have any landrover ownership history?)

That was a Facebook advert in on of the Land Rover groups but in true Facebook fashion I now cannot find it for the life of me! So unfortunalty I do not know.

I'm going to be a contrarian. I think the bumperettes on Lightweights were really a bit of a fudge to cut down the amount of dirt being thrown forwards under the wings, or maybe to protect the gap that branches could get into. For various reasons I've been using my LW without and it's a big old space.

The whole thing's off at the minute, I had to have a new bumper after the accident and the evidence is that it was green, then desert pink and back to green, all done by the Army, so painted they will be.

I would say go for it, looks good.
BTW , in the first pic' who is E charging the group of classics ? 🤔😁
If you look closely behind my MGA you will notice that although they have marked up the bays for horrible electric vehicles they have not actually installed the chargers yet so we felt it perfectly acceptable to block the modern plastic monstrosities with british classics.

Also to update this I unfortunately only found one at Malvern, as in a single bumperette, so didn't bother buying it as unless there is a pair I feel they will look very silly, and my chances of then finding another single for sale I feel is far less than finding a good pair..
