Hi. Just removing the roof on my 90. All the bolts are out as far as I can tell. Loose at the back and pivots forward, but the front above the screen seems more stubborn. I don't want to force it. Are there lugs that locate at the front or is it just likely to have been siliconed in so will just need some prying.
Thanks in advance. It's the first stage of taking off the rear to see whether the chassis is worth the repair or keep dismantling until I get around to getting a galv one, so any other advice in this process would be useful, although it does just seem like lots of nuts and bolts.

Mine had a layer of black sticky goo sealing the roof to the top of the windscreen frame, it was quite tenacious.

Cheers

Thanks guys. I will persist. As long as there are no locating lugs I can now administer a little more force. I have unbolted the side panels while waiting. Not mnay bolts holding these in place.

Have you removed the bolts along the top of the windscreen? From memory, there are 5 or 6, M6, into a square plate with a nut welded on it.

If you have, use a Stanley knife and score along any seal/sealant you can see. Then start to apply force, cut any seals you can now see, and keep going until it’s off.

Yes, all done thanks guys. I gradually levered it up and used a crowbar to prise it apart. As you say, stuck with a very sticky black goo.
Now for the tub. I gather there are the bolts on the rear cross member, the rear outriggers (will be loose as these were replaced a couple of years ago) then the ones at the front under the seat box. I am sure there are more, along with removing the fuel tank fittings, so I will be continuing at the weekend. Front outriggers look shot so it is looking more and more likely to be a new one. There is a GKS galv one in Telford it seem. Re galv'd (why?) for £2K.

Come on man. I will have a new chassis by the time it’s going. Any chassis left on JAM or still just rear x member?
