Question. TDI 200 engine to replace 3.9 v8 engine

Hi i am a new member from Brunei..I have a RR 3.9 v8 Auto with spoilt engine, and i have a Disco 200 tdi Manual, with spoilt gbox. How difficult is it to transfer the tdi engine into the Range rover.? Do i need to modify the egine mount? Which flywheel and starter will i use.? I couldnt find any previous thread in this. Your advice would be appreciated.. thanks.

200tdi is a great motor with manual box, not sure how well it will do with auto though.

The engine mounts from the disco should be pretty close to the RR equivalent but the diesel and petrol models have different part no.s for the chassis so the chassis mounts are likely to be different. Also there are different flywheel adaptor plates for the auto and manual.

On a positive note there was a 300tdi auto RRc so all the bits should be available if you can track them down. Start with somewhere like Ashcroft for advice on whats needed.
