question/opinion about the 130 double cab/pick-up.....

a 130 is going to be better room wise and still good for towing...
are they flatter as they are heavier/larger/clumsy..?
any general opinions on them....?

I see you are based in cornwall. probably not the best location for operating a 130 . They are not good for supermarket car parks, due to length, and poor turning circle. I owned a 130DCHCPU 300tdi in Australia for a good few years , no real prob with using there as plenty of room . They are a good tow vehicle , rated at GTW 7450Kg , and I operated at this weight quite frequently. They will travel at 60mph with this load quite easily. Fuel consumption running light is about 25/30 mpg depending how driven and terrain/ distance
The cab area is pretty good for 4 adults 5 is abit tight , 3 kids in back no probs.
Very handy type vehicle will fulfill a number of roles, mine did over 250,000 with hardly a problem . in pretty extreme conditions a lot of the time. In Uk could be a bit of PITA due size depending on what is main use. JMHO

great for heavy loads and heavy towing in tough conditions - there is nothing better - and I have done 200k in a 2004 td5- but a handfull in confined spaces

Cab is the same size as a 110 isn't it? Just with a bigger rear I thought (HCPU rear on a double cab).

They are great, and will carry and pull just about anything you could ever throw at it. As said earlier, a monster on British roads - I'd imagine a nightmare down your way. I've had a few issues down that way in a Disco due to its size!!!

My next is gonna be a 110 for that reason - a 130 is too cumbersome as my only vehicle. If you can afford another car though, go for it. An overlander's slightly moist dream!

only going to be used for work / towing / mainly a 16x6 livestock trailer...
its a lump with both decks full...non of the weaner jap crew cabs will look at it....
want to be sorted by end of july....pee away to much time on the raods with a tractor...
will post some pics when im lucky enough to find the right machine and get the £ together...

Same engine, so I assume same towing capacity as a 110!

finally found the right 130 double cab hcpu........
2003....one owner....full service history...a nice machine....
going to do a few jobs to it then i`ll get some pics up after the week-end....
