Guys, have a Q? here...like mine, why do most military Land Rovers have twin rear fog lights and no reversing light?

And if no reversing light how do our military LR's pass MOT's?

Thanks @Andy J and @wireman , I asked as earlier this week installed new and re-wired the front side and indicator lights + have had new super-duper LED bulbs arrive from Better Car Lighting [very high quality British designed long life jobbies https://www.bettercarlighting.co.uk/index.php]. Yesterday thought best to inspect rear lighting and wiring...it's all tired and needs refurbishing...that's this week's evening tasks and to make up new rear loom before fitting the bulbs.

I'm thinking I might add a reversing light that could double up as a rear spot light...engaged with reverse gear and parallel wired on/off rear spot switch

I have an LED "work light" wired as a reversing light off the box and with a manual switch so I can use it as a work light. Its also wired to a reversing camera so that comes on when reverse is engaged. Works a treat. Been meaning to sort it for ages, needed the boredom of a Tier 3 lockdown to get round to it.

I have just fitted a NAS reversing light to my 110. I fitted it between the driver's side indicator and the fog lamp.
The wiring for a reversing light is present behind the cover in the rear corner of the load bed and the wires from the lamp will reach the loom.
You need to fit a switch for the gearbox, use OEM as the others fall apart. The other end of the reversing light wiring is at the rear of the engine bay near the clutch master cylinder and there is an ignition live wire near to it as well.
I've not used it in the dark yet, but I'm not expecting miracles, it won't make it any darker.

Reverse light can’t be tested as part of the mot if not fitted, but if fitted must work correctly.

I swapped the near side fog for a reverse light on my 90, specifically so I could see when I was reversing into my garage

Every one of my Minis had a rear facing spotlight as a reversing light(none fitted as standard). Great for reversing and getting nobheads on fullbeam behind you to dip their headlights too!
