Hi all, I'm a LandyZone virgin, but not new to spreading knuckle blood and swearwords over a few projects in the past. One of the reasons for joining this exalted forum is the fact that I am going to buy a Discovery 2 Landmark or ES Premium in the near future before prices rise too high. I would like to ask what to look out for, what needs to have been done, what to avoid etc. I also know that my knowledge is not the best when it comes to these lumps of utilitarian Britishness.
Thanks in advance
Ian

Hi Ian,

Welcome to the Looneyzone,

You may find this useful, open the attachment for buying info.

Anytrhing else shout out, But I highly suggest taking someone who knows the D2 along to look at any prospective purchase.

Good luck

Cheers
You got there just before me.
I was going to give him all those links, and in addition that he should remember to check for rust, in particular around the rear cross member. Any Disco 2 is going to be at least 14 years old now, but those in good condition are still holding their prices somewhat.

Thanks for the good advice and help guys, looneyzone, I like that, afew people have called me similar for even thinking about buying any type of Landy.

D2 are a fine tool if looked after. Chassis rust is the PITA :(

Try and add a Nanocom to your tool box as soon as you can - it'll save you a fortune :)

Hi all, I have narrowed down a few Landmarks. Auto or manual, whats best? have a Nanocom now. is there an idiots guide to deciphering it on the net anywhere?
thanks

Ian
