pulley belt tentioner

ive removed my ace pump and fitted the replacement pulley.to refit the belt is it just a case of putting a spanner on the tentioner nut and turning clock wise to move the tensioner in to refit the belt around it then letting go to regain tention ? workshop manual isnt very clear around this but its the procedure ive used on other cars with multi pulley set ups..

anti clockwise even ?

Can't remember which way - but you've got the right idea. It'll be pretty obvious which way is correct as you need to work against the tensioner spring
