At this my time of year my preference is no door tops and the back rolled up but it can get a little chilly, especially later on in the evening.
There are several solutions to this, put on something warm, carry the door tops in the back and bolt them back on, come home from the pub before it gets cold.
None of these really appealed so I decided to make a set of light weight quick release door tops.
They are not designed so be secure or particularly weather proof nor are they meant to be aesthetically pleasing but they are quick and easy to attach, light weight and easy to throw into the back and keep the worst of the wind and rain out.
Each top is a simple 6mm poly carbonate sheet attached to a couple of shaped plastic blocks with M10 bolts coming out of the bottom at same angle as the steel door tops. The bolt heads are turned down to locate into the door frames and threaded internally to accept bicycle type quick release cam clamps. Throw the door top on, wind in the QR a few turn then throw the lever and your done.
