I bought two new shafts in the end, both branded Bailey Morris. Compared to the old ones, the U-Joints seem very stiff. Is this usual? I have never handled a new one before.
iirc it's a bit like 30 degrees out of phase.
i believe this is due to the front prop not being a straight line to the diff.
it's like that to reduce vibrations
What grease would the forum recommend for the prop shaft? It is the same with the oil in that most which are recommended in the green book are now discontinued.
On another forum I found "whatever you have in the grease gun when it needs doing". Is that really sufficient?
So is the way to do this pull them out to full extension, pump in grease and clean up any that comes out when they are fitted?
