This topic often gets questioned. Fink it’s coz of me fred on changing the vcu bearings, so I’ve reworded part of it to help.

On the balancing issue… I’ve had several pm me wiv problems. 1 of them was due to the prop taking on water. Sediment in the water settled inside and dried out. He took it orf road. This knocked the prop out of balance. Owner was that fed up he cut it in half and that’s how we found out. I always thought the props were sealed, but yer learns somefink new every day. Others have had issues wiv the props being slightly bent. Hence why marking them is an option open to those who wish to do so.

Hi everyone,
Just5 thought i would let you know what i think of this thread, i worked at LR factory for 16 years, during this time i worked on the first freelander to come down the assembly line and all the way through to the very last freelander to come off the line. The prop assembly was just put on the vehicle, no lining up marks or any other special way. The props, vcu etc are all balanced individually so it does not matter how you put them on. Additionally it would not hurt if you do mark them if it makes you happy.
