Bought my 110 a few months ago in a very similar state haha, slowly but surely it will be a nice one, just on the look out for four new doors but prices are really high so it's on the to do list, great work and a great thread, well done, will look great when finished.

Between three of us it took about 11-12 hours to prep the car. There's no filler gone in, all the dents that were there before are still there. Don't know how much the materials were (job done at mates rates). The paint was applied wet on wet so it actually took a lot less time to get the paint on than prepping or reassembling took.

When I bought the 90 it came with a pair of Qt diff guards (unfitted). Decided to fit them today but got a bit stuck.

Does anyone know if the front one will fit with HD steering arms fitted? I took the two bolts out that used to hold the rear arm guard but could not slide the Qt guard in without it fouling the rear steering bar. I also suspect I'm missing a bracket to attach the top with, does anyone have a picture of one fitted?

Hi there, I to of have a front QT diff guard.. There is a sprung bracket for the front required to fit. This is secured via 2 nuts on the top of the diff housing and then the final bolt is secured through the single threaded hole in your guard. QT sell all the bits at a very reasonable price.. I'll be getting mine on payday :)
Should be no issues with the rod my belief is that you canfit this guard with a dan bar (or similar)
Cheers
Jack

Unfortunately everything I tried with it didn't work. It fits with my stock steering bar but the HD steering bar interferes with it.

A few small bits:

Ideally I wanted the front badge to be black and silver, but I'm not that fussed. Headlining and sun visors are a big improvement!

No problem, have to admit it came down to a choice of all-over Keswick Green, Tangiers Orange (with a Stornoway Grey roof), or all-over Stornoway Grey. Went for the subtle choice in the end :)

Yep, Thinking about Keswick green for mine when I get round to it.
finding it hard to choose a colour, Just cant make my mind up

Stornoway or Keswick are both relatively easy to do (according to my mate who sprayed the 90 ), but Tangiers Orange needs a lot more work (white undercoat, and ideally a white colour layer to really make the orange bold). Mine was sprayed wet-on-wet, which means prep, tack, then undercoat, wait 15 mins, colour coat, wait 15 mins, clear coat, leave in booth. Tangiers Orange needs much more time.

Whilst sorting out the wiring this evening on the 90 I had an idea....

The torch attached to the underside of the bonnet is a magnetic LED inspection lamp. I'm wondering about getting some LED lamps, and fixing them to the underside of the bonnet and in the inner wings to give an illuminated engine bay. Think I need to go to Maplins!

Another issue that is on the way to being sorted is the power steering reservoir. It has sat leaning against the nearside headlight wiring since I bought the car (just another bodge by whoever stuck the 300Tdi in). Went down the scrappy to look for something suitable and found this:

It's the reservoir holder from a Rover 75 fitted with the BMW M47 diesel. They use the same ZF reservoir.

Fitted it should look something like this:

Haven't fixed in place yet as I've run out of suitable bolts and my drill had no charge.
