Winter is upon us
..
I have now commenced the restoration of my 109 Stage 1 project....![Big Grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Not as bad i first thought.
Chassis has surface rust ..but upon closer inspection seems pretty sound.
Rear cross member area and fuel tank are the worst but I reckon they will clean up with grinder wheel brush and some rust treatment.
Apart from the LHS outrigger which has been patched badly and will need replacement.
The footwells have been installed a bit poorly but the metal is still sound, maybe able get away with a cleanup and rust treatment.
Door are completely shot but i have some replacements already lined up.
Engine was out and gearbox had a leak when I purchased.
Fixed the gearbox leak and put it back together with the bell housing.
The engine has been bench tested and seems to run okay so far although wont know for sure until under load.
Also fitted the new clutch.
The manifolds are missing I have one from a Range Rover Classic but that fouls the chassis.
Next job is clean up the chassis and get ready for painting .joy of joys. :scratching_chin:
You will have to excuse some of the later pics....forgot my camera and resorted to the phone...which is a bit rubbish at pics.
