Evening Folks, I'm newish here, although was regular when I had a proper Landrover. However, I currently have a Freelander 1 Td4, with 115000 on the clock all original transmission, it is on an 02 plate hence I am expecting death soon. I need it to last another 6 months then it can do one.
I need a bit of help with the following if some one has done something like this before.
The rear window regulator is broken. Fortunately for me it has broken in such a way that the glass is jammed in such a position that I can still open and close the door carefully without having to move the glass up or down. Its solid, it isn't going anywhere.
As you can probably guess, the rear wash wipe wont work, neither will the heated rear screen.
I cant / wont re-calibrate as i refuse to replace the regulator, don't want to spend any more on this truck, and neither have the time or inclination to do it, although probably could if CBA hadn't creeped in. I'm from an engineering background so am quite capable.
So without recalibration, is there any way of kidding the ECU or what ever controls that section that the window is closed and hence get it to allow operation again? i.e. is there a link I can out on a circuit board somewhere to bodge it?
OR
Is it possible to run a cable from the switches to put 12v on to the switch wire of the relays to force them on directly from the switches? Where are the relays?
If I can get this working, I can trade it in to the local Afur, with all things working!!
any sensible advice gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.
