I bought a 2004 mod rr vogue td6 yesterday. On the screen menu i can not find gps/nav.In the back of the car,the cd player is mounted. It is no light in the power lamp. The seller thought this car was sold without gps.He only had this car for one month. My question is: Is not the gps installed,Is it defected or? I am very thankful for answers.:confused::confused:

Thought they all had the GPS? Check the box of tricks behind the trim in the boot left side of car looking from rear. Look for water and corroded connectors.

HSE - No Sat Nav
Vogue - Yes Sat Nav

If there is no light - you have no power that would be the first to check for, if you have power and still no light - duff GPS computer - if you are to replace go for the BMW MKIV DVD based unit from an X5 as they are better and faster but cost £400 ish

Be aware if you go for a BMW nav computer, although it will work, you will loose the off road navigation feature and you will be presented with a BMW splash screen everytime you start up. The splash screen can be changed, but it does on love re-flashing the computers firmware which is not for the feint hearted and can lead to a dead unit if not done correctly.

I found a drive at ebay for £200.I maybe buy it.

I just installed my "new" mk3 drive from ebay.de . It startede up ok,but when i put in a destination, thedistance to my destination is totally wrong. The arrow is not following the road, and gets offroad. The voice tells me that i have left the road network. Is it some way you can calibrate or something?

It can take a while to find it's position initially. I used to have an Alpina BMW and had to swap out the GPS drive for new one. There is a way to check all sensors are working correctly, I think you hold down the menu button for a while on the settings screen. Your GPS antenna could also be not functioning although these are cheap and easy to replace.

Hi! The specialist that fixed my software and becm said that the gps had problems with connection to the satelites.I get the message that i am out of the registered road network etc.I have a new dvd for my country. It is the same with the old dvd.The original drive was defected by water. The new one is exactly the right model

I have to say that I thought I had it bad with the Disco I had before my L322 but it pales in comparison beside the issues you seem to have had with this veh! Good luck for the future with it. :D
