Custom made EAS Top??? not seen one like that before!
Loads of us have modded lids, the problem with these old girls is heat, and the lids traps heat in
Custom made EAS Top??? not seen one like that before!
Yeah I was now thinking more a sensor, had car out for about 4 miles. I can see the car adjusting itself when first started but not sure in what way. Drives perfectly, although fault code and lights still on. Got it back to house and measured the distance between centre of wheels and wheel arch rears both 495mm fronts both 470mm. I can't say I have noticed the car measurably getting lower when it is sitting. Certainly was not any worse overnight. Surely then it is not a leak in my airbags. Is it worth trying to clean height sensors if so is there anyway in particular this should be done.
Thanks

Get the compressor output checked as per Wammers how to.
If it's not making enough air pressure you will get all kind of problems.
Mine would sit fine overnight and show standard ride height when started but drive away and the suspension would gradually drop as it tried to adjust itself until it went into fault.
Not enough air available......reconditioned compressor and all was well again.
I have since fitted a pressure gauge which I think is invaluable.
Interested in Tony 2s picture. Now about to show what an amateur I am. The thing at the back of the valve block with the Orange pipes. What is it. Just asking cos all my pipes going to our from it are split. I will do the compressor checks tomorrow
Thanks

Hi Ronjon.
It's the cruise control vacuum actuator. If your pipes are split the cruise control wont be working, easy job to replace them.
Mine are orange because I had some LPG hose of the right size spare and i'm too much of a tight bastard to go buy some black hose.
Thanks Parisian.
I think it looks quite OEM and the compressor runs a fair bit cooler which hopefully should extend it's life span.
I read a post by datatek which said the compressor can run at up to 120 deg but, the components in the driver pack are only rated to 85 deg hence the mod.
Petrol cruise control actuator. Bet your cruise control don't work.
