Problem with fuel consumption

According to you, the MAF just does the EGR, speed, MAP & load also affect EGR according to a recent post of yours. With the MAF unplugged, explain why running is affected? Can't be the EGR if it is blocked. there are 3 reporting the same thing with MAF problems. Not my fault you don't understand electronics.
Bosch seem to think it affects fuelling and they designed the ECU.
You keep adjusting your story to try to cover the fact that things change if the MAF is OC, like the EDC getting confused.

Keith for Christ sake give it up, you don't know what you are talking about. How does the non MAF diesel engine work without the MAF to control fuelling? The MAF DOES NOT CONTROL fuelling. It tells the ECU how much exhaust gas is being ingested by the engine. EGR works in 20 second cycles the air being ingested by the engine is measured, when EGR is activated the reduction in air flow through the MAF is measured the ECU will then adjust modulation of the EGR solenoid to regulate the exhaust gas/air mixture to reduce NOx production. It has sod all to do with fuelling.

Simple really, electro mechanical diesel injection uses fuel maps, MAF adjusts the fuelling set by the base fuelling maps according to airflow.
Unlike a petrol, the diesel will run with a duff or disconnected MAF.
Do you really think LR would have wasted time and money re-writing the last version of RAVE to confirm it affects fuelling if it were not so? they would have left the earlier version.
You adopted the same bluster a long time ago over the centre diff & VCU when I was inquiring about the operation, your description was wrong but you persisted until I produced a drawing showing the correct operation you also argued the toss about batteries and charging voltages, I notice you have changed your mind on that and now quote 14.2 volts and even 14.5 volts recently.
I'm often wrong and I rarely stick my neck out unless I'm pretty sure of my ground. I would always defer to your mechanical knowledge of the FIP and other thing, even the EAS valve block, but I know a bit about electronic.

Keith the MAF does not adjust fuelling according to airflow through it that is total and utter bollocks. You have not listened to anything i have said. The MAF is for monitoring the amount of exhaust gas being ingested by the engine to reduce air not required for combustion at that power level to reduce NOx production. NOx production is caused by excess oxygen NOT excess fuel. 14.2 is the max voltage produced by any alternator fitted to the P38 Range rover other than a 4.6 petrol fitted with an 150 Amp unit which is set at 14.5.

Spill pipe should be 1/8", 3.2 mm ID. Spill nipple is 3.2 mm with a 4 mm grip ring. So new pipe should be a tight fit. Get good spill pipe some of the stuff off Ebay is crap.
