problem overhauling eas compressor help!

hi all, i have attempted to overhaul my eas compressor with a £35 kit from ebay.
i managed to remove the compressor off the car
i have striped it all out apart from 1 allen key holding the internal crank that rotates and operates the piston.
this allen key screw seems to be very tight and when i try to unscrew anti-clockwise the allen key just clicks and the screw just dont unscrew HELP PLEASE!!!!!!
has anybody got any ideas on how i can remove this screw.
or is there anybody in london who i can take this too, i live near kings cross, n1, islington.

i was thinking of drilling into it but i was worried of damaging the thread of the casing cover screw.

PLEASE DONT TELL ME THAT I WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A NEW COMPRESSOR

The click is the allen key turning in the bolt. You have used either the wrong size or an old allen key. I'm not going to say that you now have to buy another compressor but . . .

ok i won't tell you, you need a new compressor but it will not work without it,simoniz sells a reconditioned pump around 90 pound unless they have gone up,6 months guarantee as well.unless you can get around this problem,you have little option unfortunately,find this guy on ebay

i think that might be the guy i bought the kit from.
i was thinking guys do you think i can replace the seal around the piston whilst the piston is still in the compressor, because i manage to remove the old seal by prying at the shim that fits within the seal.
my only concern is that i have scuff marks at trhe edge where i have used a small screwdriver and i had tapped aroun the piston to shimmy apart the metal ring

opiniions, and please i now new compressor

You're going to buy another pump.

A brand new pump is £160 from Island.

A re-conned pump is about £90.

You could take a chance and buy a second hand pump off ebay knowing that, as long as the motor is ok (and it's rare for them to go) you could replace the piston seal before you use it. If you think of doing this buy yourself some new allen keys, some decent ones. Good ones don't come cheap but you've now discovered why it's worth buying the right tool and buying the best tools that you can afford.

i have tried all allan keys (about 3-4, t-bar type and the others are standard l shape keys)
i think that the lock tight that is holding the screw in is so tight and the fact that it is seized tight because of the weather maybe.
and the head of the screw is just forcing the allan key to jump a turn.

any more idea guys
 
It allen key wont hold/turn I use a star key of same size, tap into allen bolt, hold in place and turn with spanner...........just an idea...

You need a 1/8" allen key.
 
When I did mine, i did without removing the piston, just the top.... the top washer thingy that hold the teflon seal on is a pain to get off, but worth the effort, ensure you smooth out all burrs , as you will make them getting the ring off the top, there is photo's on the forum somewhere.. you will need to google it...

Many thanks for the solution n I just want to ask u how n what u used to smooth out the scratches/ burrs
 
I used one of those mini hobby grinder/polisher's.. it has a little brass wire bit which made it very smooth and polished,,, if not try very fine sand paper? , prob another member will have a better idea?
 
wet and dry 600 then 1200 grit and do it wet with wd40 or similar
 
have polished brake cylinders on lorries like this and round the wet and dry and gently twist to avoid oval bore
