Prob wrong section,hope someone has the answer

Hi all ive moved in to a new house and my trailor is to long and wide to fit in the garage door ,so im thinking maybe just turn it on its side and leave it on the drive,that way with it on its side i can still use the drive to park the car on
any way im thinking of making some kind of bracket to fit to the trailer so i can have it on its side with out crushing the wheel arches ,and also being able to move it around if needed
ive clip art the bracket im thinking ,do you think it will be ok???


as you can see above its a long trailer and of course no mini will be on it
 
It looks like you will put the weight of the trailer on the centre section an it may bow, what about adding brackets at the front and back corners to spread the weight, should make it more stable and avoid bending the sides.
Best also think about how it will be fixed if it falls on the postman so legs one windy day you will have a few questions to answer
 
Love that mini. I used to have a Clubman 1275GT when I was a kid. Loved it. I could see a mini rebuild being my next project. :)

I built a trolley for my trailer to sit in on it's back end. I can then push it down the path along side the house to get it around the back out of the way, It's a hell of a lot smaller than your trailer though!
 
Worst car I ever had was a 1275 mini. Great handling but lousy acceleration, top speed and gave me chronic back ache.
I wouldn't stand your trailer on its side unless you have a wall or something permanent and strong to anchor it to. Think neighbours cat, children, postman etc if it falls over.
 
the mini on the trailer has a 1.8vvc engine,the front end is all CF ,has coil overs all round etc etc ,it sticks to the round like **** on a blanket but also accelerates much faster than most cars on the round

once on its side the trailer will be anchored to the wall with chain so no way can fall on postman lol
 
What about those car dollys that spin a car round so you can work underneath it, also how will you lift it on its side it looks pretty heavy ?

Shame, mine had a gold seal 1300cc engine in it and it went like a rocket.
My trailer is designed to stand on it's end, but I wouldn't want to lift anything bigger on my own. It's only about 5' x 3'
 
Why attached to the trailer? How? and would it be removable for using the trailer?
Better to build a ground mounted frame - 2 sections - forward of the wheel arch and behind wheel arch - that you can roll the trailer up onto, and then secure with chain. Still be pretty heavy to roll tho. :eek:
 
You could weld up a couple of heavy duty stools/trestle type thing that the trailer would roll onto if you placed them one in front of the wheels and one behind, so the trailer side would rest on the stools. That way there's no need to alter the trailer and the stools can be moved if need be.
