my paint is a bit scabby with bare patches,do i need to use etch primer or just use paint straight over the ali?i'm going to paint it anyway but probably just a hand brush job.what would be the best paint to brush paint it with?

Just while you're on the subject of Paint.

What about this as a primer;
Etch Primer Galvanised Steel Aluminium Metal Anti Rust on eBay, also, Paint Varnish, DIY Materials, Home Garden (end time 18-Dec-07 12:03:21 GMT)

Havent bought anything from them in partictular (as was on vehicle when i got it, but previous owner supplied spare paint), but ive got their MV Nato Green on my S3 at the moment (photos in the gallery, and on my user picture) and looks really gd. Not too expensive either, and good to know you can get a supply!

how much is in the cans from paddocks?

having enough trouble typing at moment never mind searching. got whineing 6month old baby on my knee :)

Do ya think it's dried yet. just reading that thread got all nostalgic It were me 1st intro to Dik1.7mm It all started so well and then went to **** so fast. Bit like dik1.7 really

i think i'll go for a big bucket of b&q's finest grey gloss and a gloss roller!:)
Nooooooooo don't do it.

You will devalue your landy.
Because you have a tax exempt Landy its worth doing properly or not at all.
Someone painted my 2a by hand and it F***ing crap, I'm slowly stripping and repainting to fix it.
It would be better if they had never painted it.
Please do it proply or leave it alone.:)

only joking!,i am thinking of leaving it as it is but was a little concerned about the areas that are through to bare metal.it actually scrubbed up o.k. as you can see.
