Pre-tension Belts

I've found a cheap set of front and rear seat belts in my local rag, but the buckles all have pre-tensioners... can I just use these as is but cut the wiring off? Or do I have to remove the buckle from the pre-tensioner completely?

This is for installation in to my 2a.

The trouble is, most on eBay are listed without buckles...

Just go to a scrappy and find a suitable set of seatbelts and take them off a car. That's what I did with my front two and they're perfectly fine

E mail the guy and find out if he'll knock some off for buying 5

Its easyer to fit universal belts (Its wot it says on the tin ) and they is new

A good rout run a scraper will find you some but the mounting can oddball ,If the inercia is not mounted right it will lock up every time you pull it, and the buckle like you know are not straight forward and you need to give um a good coat of looking at to see if the webbing is ok

I hav'nt got anything against scrappers

Well the ones from my local rag are sold now anyway... so that's that query solved

(I love it when a plan comes together!)

I know ones from a Mini (Austin / Rover) fit as I have a spare one in the garage which I've test fitted - shame all Mini parts are extortionate these days.

I'll have to find a local scrappy to have a moooch around! If I buy 5 new ones the missus will notice, however 5 scrappy ones - "I found them in the garage luv" (she's not happy I bought a Landy in the first place)

go to a scrap and get 5 from a Fiat Punto Mk1, easy yo fit and no pretensioner,
should be worth £5 since you have so many in the UK

I found that any belts from a hatchback were too short. I had some from a 106 in mine for a while and you couldn't lean forward very far before it locked. Solved the problem by fitting some from a Jeep Cherokee, no pretensioners to fanny about with either
