Hi, when I brought my P38, I was told that none of the power windows, the sunroof or the side mirrors operated due to something wrong with the window console control board. The vehicle came with a replacement board, but before swapping over I thought I might ask, the dash display readout says that the windows and sunroof aren't "set". I'm not sure what that means, I've looked through the owners manual and the vehicles booked into AMV Land Rover service centre in the new year. I'm hoping this is an easy fix and maybe even something I can sort out?

By replacement panel do you mean the switch pack, the bit next to the handbrake?
If so just swap them over its just 2 screws, the connector plug and a bit of fiddling to get it off over the handbrake lever.
The windows not set message, the one touch opening and closing needs resetting, once you have control of the windows again, in one go fully open and the fully close each window in turn, when done right itll beep at you and say the window is set, do the sunroof as well.

Whilst you're changing it make sure that the switches light up. If not it's only one bulb at the centre of the board.

Hello again, I replaced the switch pack today and still no life in the windows or sunroof. The fuses look fine, so I'm running out of idea's

GEt a meter and check for power to the switchpack, while your doing that download rave, the Rangerover service handbook
also model and year would be helpful
also take a look at fuse 1 on the Becm. Under the drivers seat and the cause of much woe.

The replacement switch pack may also be faulty, they are a known failure item like everything else on a P38. Get it on diagnostics, everything can be operated from a Faultmate to prove where the fault lies.
