Power steering TD5

In the last week my power steering has developed noise, the noise is like a grrrrr when you move the steering wheel even slightly, I have checked the fluid and looks ok and the belt looks ok also. Have also noticed that the steering feels a bit notchy when you move the steering from lock to lock.

Anyone any ideas? is it time for a replacement pump/box

Its probably a pump on the way out if its growning but if its notchy especially when steering into a corner after steady driving on a straight, it could be your belt slipping a little so check the tensioner too

As Dave says sounds like the pump, mine developed a growl especially at full lock, I fond the belt an pulleys had some oil on them, gave them a good clean and it went away, worth a try.
