Hi all again.. a quick one about my power steering.. I seem to constantly have to readjust the pulley to tighten it as over a few weeks it slackens.. is there anything I can do to stop this.. it’s fine.. just annoying. Thanks in advance

I have a thread about the alternator belt tensions, I have just replaced the bracket with an adjustable link to keep tension LINK

The power steering one is not usually a problem, have the bolts stripped the threads out of the blind holes? if so a helicoil will solve the issue. You could also try thick serrated washers on the bolts to bite into the bracket if the bracket is slipping. Maybe marke the bolts and bracket and see if it is moving or if the belt is just wearing?

It’s the power steering drive belt that keeps going slack over a period of time. It’s new belt which is correct width etc.
after a week or so I have to readjust the pulley below to get more tension.

Should settle after a couple of adjustments. Has yours got the square hole in the bracket for a half inch tommy bar to lever on to set tension?
