power steering problems

Oh no! The last week i have had some big problems starting the car.Some times i have to use the key about ten times to get a start.I thought it maybe was the backside of the ignition lock,but now i am not sure.At the same time my power steering stops . Also the central locking system is crazy.Open only the front doors.Sometimes locking only front doors.I tried the internal door locking button while i was driving.Then the power steering stopped.Could it be something with the alarm/immobilizer or what? When i start the car some hours later everything is ok.????:confused::confused::confused::confused:
 
Hi mates! Now my landy is in a garage to change steering rack.The seller pays it.I told the garage that is specialist in jaguar and land rover that i was shure it was the steering rack.In right curves when i turned the wheels about 75% i felt like the wheels were turned to the max.At this point the power steering died.It took the garage 14 days to come to the conclusion that i was right! You know the silly customer.The seller has earlier paid the same garage about three thousand £ for changing the pump and the pressure sensor.Now i see why land rovers are expensive to own! Now the seller has lended me a saab to have for a month.He ordered a remanufactured steering rack from us with guarantee.The shipping to Norway is fourteen days.Hope this helps me and my beloved landy!:)
 
Hello lads! Here is the next chapter in "the neverending" power steering story.Should get my land back yesterday,but i were unlucky.The seller bought a remanufactured steering rack from usa.The garage changed the old one to the new one.Whwn everything was finished,they should have it out for a test run.The steering rack got totally stuck.Now the seller have to return it to usa.He will not have another one from usa,so he has to search in scandinavia or germany for a new one.Can someone tell me if there is possible to get a lhd steering rack in uk? Is it the same as bmw x5?. The seller is a real nice guy.For 5 weeks i have had his chipped saab 9-3 for free.Yesterday he had to get it back because he has sold it.He drove 50km. to my place and lended me a golf 1,6 instead.Hope i soon get my landy back! Miss her a lot!

Oh no! last night ,the head gasket said goodbye on my golf 1,6.It was changed three days ago at a garage,but i don`t think they got it right.So i will get a new rent car on monday.But today i was at a breaking yard where Norway`s only wrecked 2003 l322 is.I bought the lower moulding on the right front door in very good condition,a perfect b-pillar right black door moulding,a gps mk3 with 06/07 disc for Norway,a used air susp compressor,all relays from the back of the car.the receiver for the webasto,glow relay.a right door mirror for parts with fine glass and motor. The price £41. It is true!There will be some beer tonight.See ya!:)
 
Hi Lads! Now ,the garage has changed the rebuilt steering rack to a used one.It still has the same problems.Now they have ordered a new ecu for the power steering.Hope it helps.The seller gave me his own jaguar x-type 3,0 manuel to use while my landy is in the garage.
 
Hi lads! Hope this is the last chapter. The garage has found the problem.It was a faulty abs unit.Thy have changed it earlier,but it was a used ebay item.Now they got a new unit.They promised me my landy before easter.And soon i can put on my new 20" tires.

When they previously bought that second hand ABS unit I do hope they weren't charging you for the price of new one ??!
 
Hello! i was on my way to the garage to get my landy today.On my way i got a call from the "grease monkey" he said that one of the height sensor was broken,and they didn`t have the part.So they have to order one.Three weeks before i had a big service on my car in Sweden at the land rover dealer.They told me that my car was in a great shape.This "backyard" garage in Norway has damaged my car.I asked them if they could print out the errors from ecu,but they didn`t have the outfit for it.GRRRRR. I send a message to the guy i bought my car from and wrote that he could have the F... car back.I don`t need a 4x4 parked in the winter season.I am so angry!Yesterday the garage have my car for two months! Hope a bottle of hennessey cognac helps me solving this problems! Have a nice easter!
