Hi all

The power steering to reservoir return feed pipe on my friends Freelander 2 “popped” off the other day - she lost all fluid and upon investigation I found that the plastic collet connection (highlighted in the pic) had for some reason failed - I reconnected it but it came off again later that day.

Just wondering if this is a known issue (I’m a disco2 man)? I bent the plastic clips on the collet all the way in before reconnecting a second time, hoping they would grab better, and secured the connection between the two pipes with cable ties. I think a new pipe is in order, but can’t be 100% sure it’s the collet that is the problem… someone has previously fiddled with stuff down there as all the ps pipes are pretty loose

The pic shows the pipe viewed from inside the drivers side wheel arch (with wheel removed).

Thanks in advance,

Robb

From memory, there's a non return valve in one of the lines. It it's in the return, and it's blocked, then it's very possible that the connection could come apart, as it's not a high pressure connection.
