Hiya all, just after a bit of advice a Im having issues with my D1 300tdi.

Main and most important is the power steering pump needs replacing. I have seen some this morning on the tinterweb at £48 but not sure if these would be any good?

Brakes seem to feel a bit funny also as if they get to a certain point then decide to give up. I have had the brakes checked and the garage said there was nothing wrong with them?

Also back door wont open at all, all windows have also stopped working (at different times though and not as if a fuse has blown?)

Any advice would be welcome as I was going to use Paddocks to get the parts from but I have read up (more like fell over) bad reviews about them on internet?

Thanks

Just replaced my 95 Disco 1 power steering pump with a secondhand one from Roverviews for £35. Old one suddenly became noisy and was close to seizing when removed. Straightforward job taking less than two hours.

I have used Paddocks for the majority of the parts that I have bought. Never had a problem with them. They often list OE and aftermarket options. Just need to check the forums to see if you should opt for OE depending on what it is you need.

When I bought my Disco a couple of years ago, the car passed an MOT but the brakes were not as sharp as I would have liked. The car had only done 20,000 miles in the ten years before I bought it; I found that the discs were badly corroded and the pads partly seized in the calipers. Sorted using parts from Paddocks and the brakes are now very good.

Can't help with the windows or rear door, I'm afraid.

As James said the window ECU is probably the problem.

I would fit a new PAS pump for what they cost. I fitted one of these on mine 4 years ago and its still going strong.

Steering Pump 300Tdi (Britpart) ANR2157 Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order.

Brakes could be many things, mine were fine but would suddenly almost have no effect, with mine it was the vacuum pump at fault.

Rear door is probably a spring, prise the land rover badge out and oil the mechanism and see if you can then open it?
