Well tomorrow I'm setting off for a weeks camping and general tomfoolery in Wales Washed, polished and waxed the Disco this morning, mighty fine she looks too.
Was loading her up late this afternoon, and gleefully plucked my electric cool box from the garage, and just thought I'd plug it in to make sure it worked. Plugged into the boot socket, iginition on.... NOTHING. Tried the dash socket, and me cool box fired into life.
Bugger me I thought, me boot sockets done for. Manual out, and checking the fuse box under the dash - 25A fuse, perfectly in tact...so out came the tool box
Removed the little bit of trim where the seat belt comes out so I can see down inside the wing, and blow me down there wasn't a single connector attached to the back of the socket
Unscrewed and removed the socket, and after some hunting, found the unused bit of loom complete with connectors just aft of the rear wing stuck on a bracket. Fetched up the wires, plugged them on to the back of the (very virginial looking) 12V socket, and away she goes!!
Looks like it has never been connected since it was new!!
So there ye go... 11 year old Landy, and something now works that probably never has
