This might be fun,

Before even starting to think about a tratter project I need to go through the list of bugs and gripes with my Hippo now that the major work is done. Perhaps I can relieve the dullness of the jobs if you post yours too ;).

My Gripe List:

- ReplaceTightish VCU
- Locate coolant leak
- Replace tailgate window
- Replace RH Passenger window regulator
- Touch up fascia silver where scracthed
- Fill chips on bonnet paint
- Restore alcantara and leffer on front seats
- Tidy up tatty fascia control knobs
- Replace faulty reverse switch on geabox

Once I get through this I can think about a few more accessories and tidy ups ;). What do you need to do on yours then?

Will.

Replace clutch
Replace crank shaft oil seal
HDC (does not always engage, could have been this way forever tbh)
Petrol tank cradle needs attention or replacement
Change gearbox oil (been meaning to do for a couple of years)
Drop prop at first sign of Spring

That's it, I think!

OK, Hear Yugo!

No hurry for any of these:

Front windscreen - RH heating element kaput.
Rear screen - terminals corroded and vanished.
VCU - done 109K.
Drop links - again.
Paint rear brake drums.
Paint wheel nuts.
Powerwash underside.
Vacuum interior.
Wash seat covers.
Polish with Autoglym SRP followed by EGP.
Clean all glass.

Enough of this - Time for VAT (Vodka & Tonic)

No gripes.

Upcoming jobs:

Engine oil change due in 2,000 miles (60,000)
May change Gearbox / IRD / Differential oils whilst I'm at it

Change road wheels back to summer tyres
Replace discs and pads on front.
Replace drums and shoes on rear.

mine is just to
paint rear hubs
put on the LR spot lights i have had for 6 months and done nothing with
it is going in for a MOT on Friday and they are going to give it a free wash and valet so no use polishing the leather seats and just need to sort my boot out

-I need to change the VCU bearings. Again. Hopefully they will last more than 5 months.
-The gearchange is sloppier than a whores undies. Needs linkage work, I guess.
-I need to refit the mesh in the lower grill - all but one of the clips had broken so I took it off before I lost it.
-I need to design, manufacture, test, refine and install a switchable low-ratio gearbox like on a proper 4x4;). Might take a while.

- Need to replace either the radiator or the thermostat - not sure which - so will prob do both as the rad is relatively cheap and I want a metal (kaiser) stat housing
- Need to replace the front cam cover gasket (again) cos the current one leaks (due to my noobness)
- Need a new "rear cam to cam breather" hose, followed by a reset of the ECU
- Need to fix leaking tailgate seal
- Need to fix/replace nearside rear window regulator
- Need to fix tailgate occasionally not latching when closed (just bounces open - could be springs or microswitch)
- Need to fix 3-amigos / brake light problem - I strongly suspect I know what's causing this... ;)
- Need new tyres so I can refit my prop

And by then something else would probably have broken! But I still love it.

I've got a small to do list.

Replace the header tank and fit a level switch
Change the gearbox fluid again
Change the IRD and diff oil
Fit a polyurathane lower engine tie bar bush
Get the drivers door re-sprayed
Replace 4 tyres
Fit a decent exhaust and air filter

Oh I forgot:

Weld up the original eggsauce manifold and get a genuine back box on. Hopefully that will quieten it the fook down a bit.

my god! my freelander is perfect atm....... oh **** i might have just jinxed myself lol

now you've gone and fecked it........see previous posts. You'll be doing all that soon!!

In fairness, had mine for 7 years, offroded/green laned it. Never missed any major beats. She was perfick......

Yer it was snapped clean in two at the cat when I got it. This fartermarket one is a bit **** I reckon, it's like being in a B-17 at 60+. Too many decibels .

very difficult to weld successfully but deffo better than some aftermarket jobbies, unless you get the stainless steel one :)
