Series 3 Possible to fit a remote brake booster on non-servo diesel S3?

Hi
Does anyone know whether it’s possible to fit a remote brake booster (something like the eBay link below) to a non-servo, single circuit, diesel Series 3?

I ask because it seems a lot simpler than going down the various routes described on http://www.expeditionlandrover.info/dual_brake_conv.htm and doesn’t require sourcing a £££ pedal box.

Where you planning on getting your vacuum from , best going electric vacuum pump or belt driven one.
Quite a few series 2 owners use remote servo's but not sure of the ratio.

Entirely possible - either for brake or clutch assistance - possibly assistance on both if you so desired - I fitted a servo to SWMBO's D1 clutch ( she has broken her back twice due Osteopenae, and doesn't much fancy a repeat... )

You will, of course need a vacuum "pump" - ( electric possibly easiest, probably ex Audi off the bay ), plus probably a small reservoir and a vac switch to switch the "pump" on and off, as required...

Somewhat different vehicle, but a single circuit ....

Electric vacuum pump triggered off the brake light switch. Be sure to fit a relay in circuit to reduce the load on the switch. Look at Hella U28 or U30 sometimes fitted to Volvos.

My servoed series diesel engine had the vacuum from inlet manifold but had the butterfly installed , I guess yours isdifferent

Again, yes, Mine had one under the drivers floor. I took it off as it was shot and fitted a servo on the pedal box, also I was converting to dual circuit and the dual circuit remote servos were very costly. My Perkins engine has a vacuum pump.
I would not fit it where mine was as it needs to be in clean air, I think mine got wet a lot and that's what did for it.
