Poor Starting Not Starting

usually sensor failure give warning light ,water can be an issue increasingly nowadays it seems ,undo filter and put a clear clean container under and switch ignition on diesel should stream out quite forcibly ,then check for water

Will do, if there is water in it i'll be raging!!! the price of fuel these days is bad enough, even worse if there watering it down.

I'm not going to do anymore work on the car, I'm sure the fuel system has been contaminated with water from the dodgy diesel at the garage. I will leave it in the hands of BP, it's their responsibility to have the car tested and repaired if this is the case. cheers for the feedback lads.

Turns out it was water in the fuel, stripped the tank out,cleaned it out, replaced the filter,fresh diesel in then she fired up after a small squirt of easy start.
Was running fine for a few weeks then died on me again! Fuel pump was fecked, new pump fitted now running sweet as a nut. :beer2:

Cheers that's handy to know, will eventually get round to buying one, it was supposed to be first on the shopping list when i got the discovery but breakdown after breakdown seen the money going on parts instead.
