oh my god my 110 is doing about 23/24 to gallon and i thought that was ok for such a large truck ,i do run heavily laden amd it has been chipped but its better now than b4 chipping!! also has brownchurch rack fitted, does anyone else get such bad mpg im worried now as going on overland trip soon and would love 30mpg

Having the roofrack on permanently will take 2-3mpg. Do you run AT, Mud or road tyres? Muds can take 3mpg off.

Cruise at 55mph is better for mpg, due to aerodynamics on a def.

Just done a run, Inverness - York, necked it before & after.
Ended up with 32 mpg.
I have a slightly heavy right foot, cruised down @ around 75 with the occasional 95 burst.
Around home I never have above 1/2 a tank - no point in hauling 45 litres of extra fuel.
It was 140 miles before the guage dropped to the 4/4 mark!

Thats impressive mpg and with a heavy foot. Do you have any mods and what years your td5?

Just to throw my 10 pennith worth in , I have a 1999 TD5 ES Manual I am getting 500 miles and more per tank, when doing long motorway runs at a steady 2,500rpm (65mph) i am regularly getting 32 mpg, and surprisingly on my 30 mile (eachway) commute on highland roads here in Aberdeen I am getting 28 -30 mpg:eek:

If that helps

Alan

I haven't checked mine for a while but I have a 2004 TD5. I don't drive it hard but the climate control is always on and it used to consistently return 24 and I just accepted it.

I will not give up until I find something egr is done and de cat sitting in the garage but too cold to fit it. Also nanocom is on it's way.
