Hi everyone
I'm going through the paces of future proofing my P38 , I'm getting mixed information about poly bushes .
Is this worth doing ?
Cheers
Good advice, il most likely stick with standard onesThe poly go in easier but if you get grit in there they can wear away. Some people find the handling crisper but slightly harsher ride. Rubber are harder to get in without the taper tool and press. Seeing as the originals lasted over 15 years I figured they were probably worth sticking with.
On the topic of shock absorbers , are there any companies that sell shocks tuned for comfort? Rather than stiffness.I did my hockey stick bushes and the arm to chassis bushes at the same time all in oem style parts. I do run polybushes on anti roll bar and stiffer shocks. Other than it's standard and drives and handles well.
The terrafirmer shocks are a little harsh sometimes because of our roads here but take an awful lot of the lean out of it on the corners.![]()
You can even get adjustable shocks. On the topic of shock absorbers , are there any companies that sell shocks tuned for comfort? Rather than stiffness.
Il definitely keep them in mind , even standard it's a incredible touring car.Sache or boge. My son has Monroe on his 38', they are quite supple![]()
Is that more tailored for off-road?You can even get adjustable shocks.
Nice one , cheers for the helpSort of. They are off road type but have adjustable dampening. Terribly firmas also marketed at off road / all terrain style but fine for all conditions. Bilstein is another decent make for on road
Not necessarily. Is that more tailored for off-road?
Il look into the pros and cons , either option is fine just looking for a more touring car feel. Not necessarily.
Hard to beat OEM shocks on the P38 for road use.Il look into the pros and cons , either option is fine just looking for a more touring car feel.
+1 and at around £100 + shipping for all four, quite good value.Hard to beat OEM shocks on the P38 for road use.
