Police AVCIS operation on Ebay sales of V5's/Vin plates but no chassis

I understand the fact that many motors are being classed as tax except illegally, and are being given new older i.d's and people saying that the motor has been "upgraded" when it is blatently a ringer , what im asking is when they brought in the points system reference land rovers and rebuilds were the vehicle's that were rebuilt before that date and using a coiler chassis exempt from the points system ?

@andrew-j….. Thanks, that’s exactly the type of sale that plod are after. I’ll send that to AVCIS but I guess they’ll have to rely on ebay data on the owners details as a cross reference to try to identify the vehicle with the DVLA.

I believe there's a system by which the police can request a seller's details from ebay, it's most likely that the ID being sold will be registered to the seller on SORN, so in most cases the seller's name and address would be sufficient for them to identify the ID and put a flag against it should anyone try and tax it again.

paste come's in a little glass jar or you put it on wall paper :rolleyes:!!, i've tried and tried but no ruddy use


Right click on the address bar of the page you want to copy and a drop down box will appear next to your cursor
Click on "copy" in the drop down box
Go to wherever you want to put the link and right click.
In the drop down box click on "paste"
