Hi all
Help needed
After a 350 mile trip today at just legal speeds on the last 12 mile may have been enthusiastic
When slowing down at end of motorway yellow eml light came on
Restricted performance once home put a cheap reader on it showed a turbo overboost problem
Where should I start Map split hoses it would be great to have a start point from some of the great knowledgeable members on here
Freelander 2 07 reg poverty trim
Thanks in advance

Turbo vanes and actuator are the first places to check for over boost codes.
There's a tiny C clip that secures the actuator rod to the vane lever on the turbo, which needs removing so you can manually turn the vanes through there full range of motion. Any sticking or tight spots can cause the actuator to struggle to reduce boost, which flags the over boost code.

Strange went to have a look at the turbo actuator EML had gone out went for a run all good no problems
Thanks Nodge .anyway will put it up on ramps tomorrow and check it over

It's possible that the heat from a long drive in hot conditions has caused something in the turbo vane assembly to bind up, which the actuator then couldn't move the vanes to reduce the boost.
Now it's cooled off, it's freed up again.
