Have a google of Section 59 , that is what plod uses to seize the motors and teach the naughty kids a lesson.

Cheers
Bloody Hell.........I just read all about it............I wonder how many coppers have abused that section 59 to "teach someone a lesson"

Thank fook fer that :D:D

Not really the kind of evidence it is easy to fabricate. You are either on a legal byway, or off it.

And usually the drivers will be in a group, so they have witnesses to police conduct. And of course, nowadays GPS can establish position to within a few metres.

Yeah , I can see how that would work ( thumbs up emote)

Pus , it seems (at least on the idiot box) that all Cops are now cammed up for evidence .

Cheers

Yep ......I was thinking more of the times I've watched "Interceptors".........a couple of the coppers came across as arrogant with admittedly young drivers , but yes as you pointed out with video cams etc , not easy to fit someone up as it were ( other criminal offences are available)

Not as easy for coppers to fit people up. Not as easy for people to intimidate police or do a runner either.

So you can ride an animal that's going to **** everywhere down there, but you can't drive a car?

Admittedly I can only see whats in the pics on 'ere, but it looks like a perfectly decent road to take a Landie.

Surely horses and and ramblers should stick to paths through fields.

It isn't to do with what the road is like. It is to do with how the route was classified.

There is no obligation to have signs. There is a legal obligation on users to inform themselves on the nature of a right of way by use of the Definitive Map.

I know this is accurate, but I personally think its a load of sh!te too!
If green lanes really are supposedly council maintained roads etc and all the stuff the requirements that go with driving them, like insurance, wearing seat belts etc, then I personally think they should be sign posted, just like every other road we drive.

It would probably defuse the genuine mistakes that some people make, and reassure responsible users that they are in the right.

All (most) bridleways are signposted, but it can be confusing in concern to UCR's which may or may not have vehicular rights over them. Just my opinion mind :)
