Can someone please help I have a 3.9 RRC the lock actuator packed in a week ago and now non of the doors unlock with the fob and the thing won't turn over now,I was told to try to reprogram the fob but I have tryed and got no where with it can someone please help me

Silly question no doubt, but have you tried a replacement battery in the fob? If you are a member of a breakdown service give them a try. My own RRC has central-locking but is too early for it to be remote - sorry I can't help further.

I suspect you have an immobiliser. Which uses the fob to switch off meaning it wont start. Take it you only have the one fob?

so the engine does not turn at all?
was everything working fine beforehand?
check the battery voltage with a multimeter to be sure. fully charged is about 12.6v. anything below 12v can give problems.

is your alarm/ key fob original LR ,or aftermarket?

there are companies online that can repair/ test keyfobs. not used them myself, but its one option.

also check you have not left the gear selector in drive (assuming its auto). try put it in Neutral as well as Park. could be a gear inhibitor switch.

you say none of the doors unlock, but does the alarm not sound if you open the doors. surely this would happen if the alarm/ immobilizer was still activated?

It is a original fob but the red light comes on when the button is pressed it has new battery's in the fob but it worked after I changed them just tryed putting it in neutral but it does the same, good point about the alarm it didn't go off when I unlocked it I have been told it could be the receiver or alarm ecu just trying to find them now

It's not a soft dash going to try bypassing alarm tomorrow if it all fails the truck will be stripped and scrapped

Mine 1993 needed resyncing....will see what I can drag up...

What condition is the rest of the vehicle in...there are precious few Classics around, to strip and scrap an otherwise reasonable vehicle just for one fault is a bit extreme!

EDIT: Found something in the 1990-1994 Service Manual as attached picture.....

did you check the car battery voltage? if the battery has gone flat or even too low, it may not be enough to even run the alarm, let alone start the engine?

anyone know how many classics are left. i tried looking on how many left, but its hard to work out total number of classics

Battery seems fine I even connected a battery booster and still same thing happend got a electrition coming today to try sort something out hopefully will get somewhere this weekend

Hi saint v8 thanks for the help and attachment, which side of the car will the alarm ecu be it just says to remove lower dash?

Brilliant thank you but I have another silly question to remote initialisation do all the doors need to be locked and unlocked at the same time or can they be done one at a time?

I need to try and bypass the alarm to get it to run has anyone done it and how to do it,which wires to short out please help

If I knew, it would be dubious to place in a public forum for the obvious reasons - can I ask anyone who knows to reply to disturbed via a PM rather than putting security information on how to bypass alarms and immobilisers on a public site....thanks!
