Sorry in advance if this is the wrong section. Does anyone know if there is a mattock version of the standard pioneer pick axe or a way of making one? I have way more use for a mattock than a pick but would like to still be able to fit it like how the pick does. Hope that makes sense

I don't see why you can't simply make the brackets to fit the mattock head yourself, or have them made. If you have a vice it shouldn't be too hard to bend one using aluminium sheet. Get some cardboard(corn flake box or something similar) and make it out of that. Once you have worked out the shape, bend it in a vice. If you can't manage it in one piece, make it in three. Make the two right angle parts, the parts that rivet to the body and the uprights then make the piece that joins them together. Or remove the existing brackets and modify them. Or see if Martin at Able Engineering can make you one as i expect the kit of brackets they sell are made in house.
