Hi all,
I had a new clutch fitted and he forgot to reconnect this cable for my reverse lights, I've plugged it onto the reverse switch but were do the 2 prongs go? hes a friend so ain't going to moan plus I thought how hard can it be to plug in a wire?... Well turns out I'm retarded and cant find were it goes.. luckily I've only wasted an hour and half looking.... Haynes says nothing... I know its somewhere on the gearbox any help would be mint!
Cheers

Okay so ive looked everywhere humanly possible with no luck. So Ive had a look at the wiring diagram and it seems that the reverse light switch goes to a header joint K109 so my new question is anyone know what a k109 header joint looks like? :S

Looking at the photo it looks like the wires have been pulled out of a plug. Those little black bungs are waterproofing bungs for the plug. So I'd say look for a plug with no wire coming out of it.

Thats what i thought but couldnt find anything..... so i thought maybe a multi plug nothing..... so now im thinking a header joint.. i'll have another look tho cheers

Saw this on another thread. Think it might be the answer you're looking for...

Reverse lights ...same fuse as the brake lights (F2) so if they work its not the fuse, check the bulbs are ok or even in there ...if ok then go under the bonnet and take off the air filter box for better access to the reverse light switch, its mounted on the gearbox as you look down on it - take off the two wires and connect together (bullet connectors) then put it into reverse and turn on the the ignition..the reverse lights should both come on. if they do then you need a new switch...about a tenner on e bay...then Bobs yer teapot

Nice on mate, however everything works just need to plug the reverse light switch (not gearbox end) but the other end of the switch lead in somewhere just cant find where it goes. Im almost at the point of just wiring a spotlight at the back on a different switch. Cheers anyway tho mate

It can only be joined to something within a comfortable reach of the length of the wire. Does it reach up to anywhere near the engine bay fuse box?. I think there are a few plug near there and or perhaps under the fuse box. I think it has one bolt to fix it and it just then basically pivots up.

It does reach up to the fuse box ish, cant see anything obvious its pretty tricky to get to but now i know it goes somewhere around there gives me a good reason to strip some stuff out for a better look thanks :D

at a guess i would say it has come out of the fuse boxtry tilting the fuse box up when you have undone it to see i can not remember what the fuse number is .

Hi and thanks for the info, but, to get the connector off do you just squeese the sides, to compress the wire spring, as in your 2nd photo?
Thanks, Simon
